RateHawk Rolls Out New Search Tool for Sustainable Booking Options
RateHawk, an online B2B platform for booking hotels, air tickets, and transfers, has introduced a new “Sustainability certification” filter in their accommodations search. This new tool helps travel professionals find properties with lower carbon footprints, more eco-friendly practices, and thoughtful sustainability initiatives.
Users can select this filter and browse through a list of greener choices. Relevant accommodation options will also have a “Sustainability certification” badge on their hotel card for easy identification.
Ilya Kravtsov, Chief Commercial Officer of Emerging Travel Group, RateHawk’s parent company, commented, “By rolling out a “Sustainability certification” filter, we aim to help travel professionals and their clients quickly and easily find eco-certified options. This update is particularly crucial for users in the Travel Management Company (TMC) sector, as sustainability policies are increasingly prioritised by their corporate clients. Global Business Travel Association’s report reveals that 89% of business travel professionals prioritise sustainability. This initiative reflects our commitment to creating a user-friendly platform that meets all our customers' needs and supports the sustainable development of the tourism industry.”
According to recent World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) research, the tourism industry has significantly reduced its negative impact on the environment during the last few years thanks to sustainable initiatives and customers’ growing interest in more eco-friendly options. The industry's contribution to global gas emissions dropped from 7.8% in 2019 to 6.7% in 2023.
The new filter is available on the RateHawk website and mobile web.
