Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Head of Analytics for the Wholesaler business unit, which is responsible for signing direct contracts with hotels and improving inventory across all group products. In this role, you will lead a team of two people and leverage data to enhance inventory and evaluate results (making the task especially interesting since Ostrovok is a two-sided marketplace). You will also help prioritize tasks based on data for the team responsible for signing hotels.

Job Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of two analysts.
  • Implementing processes to ensure efficient collaboration between the Direct Supply and analytics teams, acting as a strategic partner for commercial and product leaders.
  • Optimizing team workflows (e.g., planning, code review, release notes) and improving the efficiency of analytical tasks.
  • Developing methods to evaluate LTV (Lifetime Value) from signing hotels and apartments in various regions, as well as assessing the impact of Direct Supply team initiatives.
  • Building a prioritization system for onboarding hotels and apartments to the platform. Enhancing the metrics system and BI reporting for the Direct Supply team.

Examples of Team Projects:

  • Evaluating CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost) and LTV from signing and improving cooperation with hotels and apartments.
  • Developing and implementing a quality and competitiveness metric for inventory.
  • Creating a metrics tree for Wholesaler.

Key Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in analytics and 1+ years of experience managing a team.
  • Proven experience in team management and mentoring: ability to effectively lead a team and coach less experienced colleagues.
  • Passion for solving unconventional problems and conducting business analysis: interest in tackling complex tasks, deep analysis of business processes, contributing ideas for company growth, and openness to innovation.
  • Proficiency in SQL: ability to write and optimize SQL queries for data processing.
  • Experience with BI tools: knowledge of systems like Tableau for data visualization and analysis.
  • Programming in Python: strong proficiency in Python and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Scikit-learn for data analysis and model creation.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods: understanding and application of statistical methods, including experience with A/B testing and experiments.
  • Expertise in various analytical methodologies: familiarity with methodologies like Diff-in-diff, Causal Inference, Causal Impact, and Propensity Score Matching.
  • Time series forecasting: ability to work with forecasting methods such as Prophet, ARIMA, and Exponential Smoothing.
  • English proficiency: B2+ level for effective communication and working with documentation.
